How often do we look back at our lives?  Reflect on all the things we’ve done? Take time to think of all the people we’ve met?  All the little, insignificant things that we found so important at the time: dumb fights, pointless arguments, and the motivation to prove that we’re right even when we’re wrong.  How often do we look back at these things?  The relationships we have with others, and the things that we have done with them are all a part of our past.  Looking back on our lives, do we really make an impact in this world?  With the steps you take and the songs you sing, how will you be remembered?  When the good Lord calls your name and you take your last breath on this Earth, will tears fall when you sing your last note? Or will your name leave a bitter taste in people’s mouths?  What is it that we do that makes such an impact in people’s lives?

Love. It’s a rather simple concept yet we know little about it.  What defines love?  Is it by the amount we give, or the amount we receive?  Do we give just enough so we’re not all used up or do we give all of ourselves away, holding nothing back?  What is our motivation to continue to be kind, compassionate to others?

I like to think that it’s those who are important to us.  Those we carried home when they couldn’t stand and those who were there for us when reality unexpectedly knocked at the door, both good and bad.  The relationships we make on this Earth, I’d like to think, is what defines us.  Do we do unto others as we would do unto ourselves, or do we care little about others and worry only about ourselves?  Throughout our lives, I believe that it’s what we do to others is how we’ll remembered.  Will people scorn at the mention of your name or will they revel at your memory?  How will you be remembered?
